SCTE Foundation’s New Era in Workforce Support and Technological Advancement
As active participants in this transformative industry, each of us plays a crucial role in shaping the landscape of connectivity and communication. The work we do is not just about today—it’s about building a future where our innovations have the power to redefine how people live and connect.
In this era marked by rapid technological advancements and increased global connectivity, the SCTE Foundation is proud to announce a comprehensive relaunch aimed at better engaging, supporting, and sustaining the workforce of the future. This new chapter in our journey is characterized by an expanded mission, a restructured board, a new logo illustrative of our story, the establishment of new committees, and the unveiling of a user-friendly and engaging website.
The SCTE Foundation is relaunching from the firm ground of the organization’s charitable legacy and has expanded its grant and scholarship programs to benefit individuals and companies, including vendors and industry innovators. Several powerhouses who are passionate about the Foundation and its mission have joined our combined executive leadership team (board of directors, committee leadership and staff operations) and are now sharing their wisdom as part of our driving force. By actively engaging with and heeding guidance from the companies we serve, we are positioned to deliver tangible value to the industry.
This strategic shift, which includes the establishment of a “new ideas” committee, will drive innovation and support new workforce training. In addition, we have already expanded our operations to include the hiring of the organization’s first operations manager. The Tom Polis Golf Classic—which supports the Foundation—earlier this summer was the highest grossing tournament since the event’s inception 22 years ago. This success is a testament to the excitement surrounding the Foundation’s evolution and the momentum that is underway.
With the rapid expansion of advanced networks deeper into rural America and reaching new, unserved, and underserved populations, more than 200,000 jobs need to be filled. To successfully adapt to these changes, it is vital to attract diverse talent, upskill the existing workforce, and foster innovation for workforce development.
New opportunities for fundraising will play pivotal roles in advancing the endeavors of the companies and individuals at the forefront of innovation. These resources will not only bolster our operational capacity to effectively support a greater number of companies, but also facilitate the cultivation of essential skillsets vital for industry development.

With a career spanning 56 years in cable telecommunications, Mark Dzuban is now serving the industry as Chair of the SCTE Foundation. Dzuban has been named a Cable TV Pioneer, Cable Center Innovation Laureate, Cablefax Top 100 industry executive, and has received the Vanguard Award for Cable Operations Management. During his tenure as SCTE President and CEO, Dzuban was instrumental in transforming the organization into a recognized applied science leader in workforce education, standards, energy management and other areas. He also led the visionary move to combine forces with CableLabs® to further drive the industry forward, bringing the entire business cycle—ideation to implementation—under one umbrella.
