Recently, I had the pleasure of once again judging the Broadband Championship (formerly Cable Games) at SCTE’s TechExpo25 in Washington, DC. As a trainer with decades in the industry, I’m continually impressed by the professionalism and competitive spirit of the craftspeople who represent the “best of the best.” Watching them work reminded me of the combination of formal training and self-directed learning that shapes their expertise.
